ADVAITA VEDANTA: (NON DUALITY)
Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

"You need not to push life about. Just flow with it and give yourself completely to the task of the present moment, which is the dying now to the now. For living is dying without death life cannot be. "

~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

"There's a single book that I reread every year: "I Am That" by Nisargadatta Maharaj (1897-1981). Every time I reread "I Am That," I close the book convinced that the world would change entirely if everyone in it took
 Nisargadatta's wisdom to heart."

~ Deepak Chopra

One of the main Neti Neti Media objective is to spread the work of the uncelebrated master of non duality, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. In collaboration with Stephen Wolinsky, one of the few living direct students of Nisargadatta Maharaj, we produce DVD’s, CD’s and help promote books on this amazing teacher.

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj was named Maruti and was born in March 1897. He met his Guru Sri Siddharameshwar at the age of 34, and amazingly, 3 years later "realized" his true nature. As a member of the Navnath Sampradaya lineage, Maruti took the name Nisargadatta Maharaj and soon become meeting with seekers. Maharaj was world-renowned and admired for his direct and informal teachings, a selection of which are in his most famous and widely-translated book I Am That. Nisargadatta is widely considered to be one of the 20th century's most articulate communicators of the Hindu Advaita Vedanta or nondualism, uniquely successful in making such previously diffuse ideas accessible to both Eastern and Western minds.

The Legacy of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Stephen, Zaya Philip and Maurizio, traveled to Mumbai from Nov 24, 2007 to January 15th, 2008 to produce this new film on Nisargadatta. Our goal was to collect interviews with the three translators of Nisargadatta Maharaj, all now between the ages of 85 and 92.

Mullarpattan, Mahon Gaitonde and Jayashri received us most graciously. We were deelply grateful to have the chance to meet them and record their knowledge and anecdotes. Our journey took us to Maharaj's old room, where he lived and received students. Immagine our surprise to find it now dominated by a large flat-screen television set! We interviewed Nisargadatta's family, found his "shrine" and visited his Guru's shrine. We also interviewed Ramesh Balsakar and met with many incredible Nisargadatta's devotees that shared their devotion and love with us.

In November- December, 2009 the Neti Neti crew will journey to India to finish the film. The movie, whose production started in 2006, intents to document the legacy of this unique Advaita master and present to the western audience, interviews with the old Nisargadatta translators and disciples.

The expected release date for “The Legacy of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj” is the early summer of 2010.

Nonduality is the philosophical, spiritual, and scientific understanding of non-separation and fundamental intrinsic oneness.

For thousand of years, through deep inner inquiry, philosophers and sages have came to the realization that there is only one substance and we are therefore all part of it. This substance can be called Awareness, Consciousness, Spirit, Advaita, Brahman, Tao, Nirvana or even God. It is constant, ever present, unchangeable and is the essence of all existence.

In the last century Western scientists are arriving at the same conclusion: The universe does indeed comprise of a single substance, presumably created during the Big Bang, and all sense of being - consciousness - subsequently arises from it. This realization has ontological implications for humanity: fundamentally we are individual expressions of a single entity, inextricably connected to one another, we are all drops of the same ocean.

Science and Nonduality is a journey, an exploration of the nature of awareness, the essence of life from which all arises and subsides. read more @ www.scienceandnonduality.com
